".. a new female jazz singer who commands one’s attention ... a vocal performance which deserves mention" - LA Jazz Scene

Award-winning jazz & cabaret star Linda Kosut makes her Rrazz Room debut with her birthday show, “When I’m 64!”  Known for her rich contralto sound and strong acting chops, this Bay Area vocalist effortlessly weaves the songs of differing genres into a fusion of jazz, pop and folk.  In “When I’m 64!” — a show of all new material, Linda will celebrate her birthday by singing the songs she loves most ... the songs that tell her story.  Along with her band of exceptional Bay Area musicians, she will cover songs written by the Beatles, Randy Newman, Irving Berlin, Bob Dylan, Rogers & Hart… just to name a few.

Remarkably, Linda began pursuing her dream of performing just a few years ago as she started to approach “boomer” status. And she has not stopped since. “I’m sure that I’m not alone in my journey to satisfy this creative bug I’ve had my whole life,” says Linda, “But it wasn’t until I reached ‘retirement’ status that I really went for my dreams. I know the excitement I feel about realizing this dream translates to my audience. They tell me how I’ve inspired them, and it is my sheer pleasure to do so.”

Raised in New York City, Linda moved to San Francisco some 20 years ago. She lives with her fiancé, two dogs, four chickens and thousands of fresh-water fish in their 40+ aquariums.

The band: John Simon: piano; Daniel Fabricant: bass; Alan Hall: drums, Tony Malfatti: reeds.

“...amazing Bay Area canary, brings her skills as an actress to her insightful interpretations ”  Don Heckman, International Review of Music

“...deft handling of the variety of material that’s here - from dark and bluesy to lighter material shows the many facets of her own talent. The transitions are seamless, and her way with a lyric makes [songwriters’] words come alive.” Doug Boynton, Girl Singers

“...slinky and sly in unraveling the blues ... shows her mettle as a jazz singer.” Jerry D'Souza - All About Jazz

“ ...challenging repertoire - a classy and intimate listening experience" Rob Lester - Talkin' Broadway
